Blessed Savior Lutheran Childcare Teacher

Young children learn mainly through play. Teachers recognize this and capitalize on children’ play to further the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development of a child. Instruction concerning young children can include small group lessons, one-on-one instruction, hands-on learning, and creative activities such as art, music, and dance. Teachers play a vital role in preparing children to build the skills they need in the future.

To serve as a Christian example and witness faith in Jesus Christ to all students, families, and staff involved with Blessed Savior Lutheran.

To provide instruction and activities which promote the social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual growth of children

To participate in planning and supervising daily activities in the classroom

To provide parents updates about their child’s day and activities

To facilitate a learning environment that encourages positive student behaviors

To convey clear behavioral expectations and maintain Christian discipline

To address student problems and concerns in an organized, fair, and consistent manner

To provide continuous supervision to children enrolled

To ensure health and safety of all children

To maintain student records including daily sign-in and sign-out rosters

To communicate with other teachers and parents regarding observations of student’s behaviors, activities, and progress

To display enjoyment and enthusiasm for teaching and encourage students to enjoy learning

To maintain the classroom and play area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition

To set up rooms for various activities such as lunch, nap, games, etc.

To use effective communication skills with parents, staff, and community

To work with other staff members to improve methods and techniques

To be able to physically fulfil the duties of this position

To lift at least 50 pounds

To kneel and/or sit with the children on the floor

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 35 per week

Education: Associate (Preferred)

Experience: Early childhood education: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification: CPR Certification (Preferred)

Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
