Description A dynamic organization within professional services is looking for a Controller to join their team in Madison! In this role, you will be overseeing all finance and accounting activities of the firm. This includes managing accounting, receivables, payables, month-end, and payroll functions. Responsibilities:
Responsible for directing and managing the company's fiscal records in line with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
In charge of overseeing monthly billing processes, from generating monthly statements to handling collections and receipts
Tasked with maintaining the firm's fixed asset inventory, ensuring all assets are accurately tracked and recorded into financial systems
Expected to prepare and process semi-monthly payroll, making sure all benefits are accrued and paid correctly
Acts as main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll and expense reimbursements
Required to manage relationships with vendors, guaranteeing that accounts payable are processed timely
Responsible for reconciling credit card charges, ensuring all expenses are posted to the correct categories
Ensures compliance with 401k rules and conducts annual compliance testing
Supervises other finance staff, establishes strong relationships with the executive and management teams to identify and cater to additional needs and business solutions
Ensures that effective internal controls are in place, performing all finance and accounting functions
Requirements
Qualifications:
CPA is required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
5+ years in a leadership role within finance is preferred
Understanding of GAAP Accounting
