Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Digital Transformation Manager (DTM) is to support sales in driving new opportunities, pipeline growth, and enabling revenue closure. This is done by being the primary subject matter expert (SME) of enabling and maintaining a digital transformation and improvement strategy for our customers product development processes. This will focus on how EAC and PTC products and services provide solutions for Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Smart Connected Operations and Products.

As a DTM, you will be expected to facilitate discussions with key customer contacts at all levels to learn and analyze their current business methods and improvement needs. You will be expected to identify key areas that EAC solutions could help the customer improve. Then provide sales with business value and positive business outcomes of those suggested improvements for the customer. These functions will be accomplished with various customer meetings. You will work with the sales lead to define a strategy to approach the customer with the recommended solutions. The primary goal is driving rapid opportunity development and closure by providing clear and compelling value to the customer to move forward with our recommendations.

The DTM will also be responsible for execution of our Product Development System Assessments. These are deep dive analysis sessions with our customers which are completed onsite or remote. There are various types of assessments that can consist of a half-day functional software utilization analysis, to a multi-week deep dive analysis of their product development processes, manufacturing processes and IoT connected strategies. Regardless of the level of these assessments, they all consist of the following key functions:

  • Analysis and documentation of the customer’s current state
  • Education of what is possible with PTC and EAC software and services
  • Architect with the customer what an optimized future state looks like via a digital transformation initiative
  • Value and ROI expectation capture with the customer once the optimizations are realized
  • High-level roadmap or plan on how to achieve these optimizations and digital transformation
  • Overall presentation delivery of our findings and recommendations in a compelling and dynamic manor. The customer groups can include 5 to 50+ people from all levels of the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist Sales and Marketing teams at all levels in Business Development activities
  • Promote, show value, and internal selling of the Digital Transformation Manager role and assessments to EAC sales team to drive utilization of both
  • Onsite and remote customer meetings with each Sales Executive throughout the year
  • Scoping, scheduling, and managing support resources to execute various levels of product development assessments
  • Create professional PowerPoint, Word and Visio documents capturing assessment results and proposed digital transformation solution roadmaps
  • Drive professional and relevant conversations at all levels with customers around their product development processes from “quote to cash”, or design, manufacturing, servicing, and connecting their operations and products
  • Drive conversations with the customer at all levels to learn key pain points, and the cost of those pains related to the current state of the customers business processes
  • Define, document and present digital transformation solutions for customers based on PTC and EAC products and services.
  • Ensure all service-related pre-sales activity information is clearly communicated to and understood by the service team. Assisting our Solution Development Managers in proposal and statement of work creation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • College degree desired
  • 5+ years product development experience with deep business awareness of designing, engineering, manufacturing, and servicing products.
  • 2+ years of experience working with enterprise level product lifecycle management systems.
  • 2+ years sales experience including sales, marketing, and business development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role responsible for growth targets in customer success, sales, business development, or account management
  • Experience with IIoT or IoT software, concepts, and strategies a plus
  • Experience with PTC suite of products a plus
  • Experience in supporting an organizations digital transformation a plus

  • Must be positive in all interactions with management/employees at every level of the organization.
  • Be able to have relevant discussion around all aspects of product development at any level of an organization
