Primary Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and executing a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, helping ensure a positive workplace culture and adherence to company policies and employment laws.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Employee RelationsServe as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programsAddress employee concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflictsConduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actionsSupport and enforce company policies and progressive discipline processesRecruitment & OnboardingLead and execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly manufacturing roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboardingSupport recruitment for salaried positions across professional, technical, and leadership roles, partnering with hiring managers and leadership teamFacilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programsPartner with supervisors to understand staffing needs and reduce turnoverBenefits & CompensationAdminister employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, etc.)Assist employees with benefits questions and enrollmentSupport compensation reviews and salary benchmarkingCompliance & PoliciesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsMaintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and proceduresManage personnel records and ensure data accuracy and confidentialityPerformance ManagementAssist with performance review processes and goal setting in AXCS PeopleSupport managers with coaching, disciplinary actions, and development plansSafety & Workers’ CompensationPartner with plant leadership to promote a strong safety cultureAssist with incident investigations and documentationCoordinate return-to-work programs and workers’ compensation claimsSupport safety training and compliance initiativesHR AdministrationMaintain HRIS systems and employee recordsPrepare HR reports and metrics (turnover, headcount, etc.)Support payroll processing and audits as needed
