Hybrid Network Engineer (Appleton, WI)

Client is looking for a Network Engineer for a Direct Placement opportunity. This will be hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days on-site) in Appleton, WI. Looking for a SR. level resource they will be the sole network person.Top Skills:

Network Engineering - configuration and administration of routers, switches and firewalls

Extreme Switches

Checkpoint Firewalls

Wireless experience (Meraki preferred)

Experience with Network Segmentation, access points and VPN's

Job Description/Duties:

Leads design, configuration and administration of all network infrastructure including wired, wireless, and site connectivity.

Manages firewalls and overall network security including LAN segmentation.

Monitors health and performance of network, investigates problems and outages to resolution.

Creates and maintains network related documentation, including scopes of work, diagrams, processes, and test plans.

Consults with vendors regarding system functionality, upgrades, and maintenance.

Additional details/experience:

Hands on knowledge working with Extreme Networks (Extreme Switching, Wi-Fi, Extreme Cloud IQ).

Solid understanding of firewall policies (Check Point experience preferred.)

Understanding of Network Access Control (NAC), Radius, 802.1x, AD, LDAP, DNS)

Experience creating and administering VMware virtual networks.

Working knowledge of low voltage data cabling and fiber optic design.

Working technical knowledge in network design and segmentation. (Illumio experience a plus)

Working knowledge managing and deploying enterprise wireless technologies.
