American Ukrainian Youth Association is seeking a responsible, certified Lifeguard to join our team for the summer season. As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of campers and staff at our swimming facilities. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact on our camp community.
Work Schedule:
> 8 hours per day
> 5 days per week
> No work on Mondays or Wednesdays
> Position runs through the end of summer, past Labor Day
Responsibilities:
> Supervise campers and staff in and around swimming areas to prevent accidents and injuries
> Enforce camp and pool safety rules and regulations at all times
> Respond quickly and effectively to all water-related emergencies
> Perform first aid and CPR as needed
> Conduct daily safety checks of pool and surrounding areas
> Measure pH and chlorine levels
> Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of pool facilities
> Participate in camp staff meetings and training sessions
> Complete incident reports and other required documentation
Requirements:
> Must be at least 18 years old
> Current Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)
> Current CPR and First Aid Certification
> Ability to pass a background check
> Requires knowing how to measure pH and chlorine levels.
> Strong communication and leadership skills
> Ability to remain alert, focused, and calm in emergency situations
> Previous lifeguarding experience preferred, but not required
