Job Description
As an Operations Professional, the Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Engineer will:
- Develop, implement, and improve production processes, methods, and controls
- Coordinate manufacturing launch of new or revised products including fixtures and tooling, measurement gages and techniques, PPAP with capability studies and ongoing CI efforts
- Drive processes and provide training to all employee levels to realize improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing/quality documentation as well as tooling/gauge design
- Lead projects in the development and implementation of automation in mechanical assembly and inspection processes. This will include design, specification, directing and managing vendors, installation and qualification of automated systems and equipment
- Engage production processes with 100+ pieces of metal manufacturing equipment including rotary screw/multi-spindle machines, assembly, and inspection using brass material.
- Collaborate cross-functionally among production, maintenance, quality, scheduling, purchasing, and finance.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:- 3-5 years Technical Experience in Manufacturing Operations (engineering, CI, quality)
- Demonstrated business/team metrics improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Team, etc.
- Strong skills in communication, project management, analytics and problem-solving
- Proficient with computer applications including 3D CAD-Solid Works & 2D AutoCAD, ERP-Oracle, MS-Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering-Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related technical discipline
- Application of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Poke-Yoke, Kanban, KPI’s, structured problem solving, kaizen, standard work, hour-by-hour, 6S, GEMBA Walks, FMEA, PFEP, PLQP, TPM/OEE, etc.
- Metals Manufacturing process experience (machining, assembly, fabrication, test)
- Gage and Fixture design experience
- Able to diagnose machine, tooling, and equipment malfunctions (strong mechanical aptitude)
- Leading company with a structured/sophisticated Business System(Toyota, Danaher, GE, CAT, Eaton, etc.)
- High career potential individual who has the drive to continuously learn and grow
