Mechanical Technician-Manufacturing Plant

Position Summary: Ensures that the facility’s equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly. Oversees and maintains the facility’s Maintenance Programs and takes a hands-on approach to daily situations (repairs) as they arise. Also, provides technical and mechanical advise to other key team members/management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support General Operations Manager and Plant Manager in the day- to- day operations of all equipment and production needs.

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and work with outside service techs as needed for proper maintenance of all facility’s equipment.

Advise on and perform physical building (inside/outside) up keep, repairs, and improvements.

Demonstrate that safety is a value by following all safety procedures, completing safety training, maintaining a safe workplace, and Comply with all safety rules.

Review machine and equipment manuals to understand preventative maintenance and write/update their procedures.

Ensure equipment inventories and supplies are well maintained and available. Keep expense controls in mind and look for opportunity to reduce waste.

Skills and Experience:

Proven or work-related work history. 2-5 years min preferred

Excellent organization skills with great attention to details.

Having electrical qualifications to diagnose and resolve machine/equipment issues is highly desirable.

The job requires a self-motivated individual who can work with or without supervision to maintain or repair equipment and machinery.

Have the ability to lift 50Lbs, bend, twist, work in tight spaces around equipment, and be on your feet for long periods of time.

Work Environment: Mild to moderate fiberglass dust exposure in the shop and mild to moderate noise in the office/plant.
