Description:
Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks as part of the patient care team; room patients, obtain patient histories, take vital signs, review and update required documentation.
Perform procedures including, but not limited to: phlebotomy, nasal and throat swabs, in-house laboratory testing, etc.
Advise patients on specified medical issues as directed by a provider. Schedule follow up appointments and manage referrals.
Monitor patient appointments and Nurse Visits as able. Assist with or coordinate office functions and participate in quality improvement and other compliance activities.
Enter orders in medical chart as directed for laboratory, imaging, pending medications and referrals. Review and update Health Maintenance in medical chart.
Clean and maintain supplies in exam rooms and other clinical areas; monitor refrigerators and equipment as assigned. Practice safety, environmental and/or infection control methods.
Supervise and orient new clinical employees, students and volunteers. If bilingual, assist with translation as indicated.
Provide care vouchers for patients as indicated.
May participate in clinical outreach activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
