Oracle Database Administrator based on the following skills:

Top Skills: Certified as an Oracle DBA or an equivalent amount of experience.Experience with PLSQL in supporting an application development team.Experience with Oracle 12.2 and higher with multitenant architecture experience.Experience with Linux Shell Scripting. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT FOR THIS POSITION.

Duration: 6/30/2023, with the potential to extend for an additional term(s) This position is currently Remote. However, position status is subject to change. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. No designated work-space will be assigned however, selected candidate must be available to work at our location as needed. Client shall not pay for travel time or reimburse for travel expenses.

Detailed Job Description:This Database Administrator’s primary responsibility will be for the Oracle administration and support of our existing Data Warehouse and OLTP environments for the Business Intelligence and Application Development sections. The DBA will collaborate with programmers and analysts to implement and validate changes to database schemas and supporting environments. The DBA must have experience with Oracle Database management tools such as OEM, SQL Plus, and SQL developer.This role requires interaction with a cross-functional team. These teams may be comprised of people from other State Departments with various levels of Oracle knowledge and experience. The teams may include Technical Administrators or business professionals from program areas, infrastructure, application development, or 3rd party Vendors. The candidate will be responsible to ensure that solutions are planned, developed, deployed, and maintained in accordance with the Department of Children and Family’s security policies and business requirements. A strong communication with different stakeholders both verbally and written are necessary for success. Varieties of tasks are performed daily, including the database administration for SQL application databases and security assignments. Some knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server management tools such as Management Studio may be needed. This position does require a degree of creativity with some latitude provided to produce solutions where needed. Experience with enterprise class applications with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as IRS Pub 1075 and PII is highly recommended. Experience with meeting government regulations on security, data encryption as defined by the regulations is recommended. Candidates that have ERWin Data Model knowledge, Informatica Source and Target management are a plus.

Please note the qualifications for this position per the contract:Coordinates physical changes to computer databases; codes, tests, and implements physical database, applying knowledge of database management system. Designs logical and physical databases reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical database (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method). Establishes physical database parameters. Codes database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database to database management system or directs others in coding database descriptions. Specifies which users can access databases and what data can be accessed by user. Tests and corrects errors and refines parameter changes to database. Enters codes to create production data base. Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance, such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to database management system. Reviews and corrects programs. Answers user questions. Confers with coworkers to determine impact of database changes on other systems. Modifies database programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning. Workers typically specialize in one or more types of database management systems. May train users.Database Administrator capabilities with 8 - 10 years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
