Painter

We are looking for a Painter to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces. Your job will be important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits. An excellent painter is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job, and if you are not sure this is you, be ready to learn!

This is a small business with lots of profitable work to do. You will work with a small team with the owner and 1-2 others and experience painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. Looking for someone who must be reliable and has great attention to detail in completing the work at hand. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work. You must also be willing to learn and use methods of efficiency. You can share a part in that if you show up consistently and are willing to do the work.

Responsibilities

Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.

Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.

Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)

Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture

Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools

Apply varnish and other finishes

Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

You may be asked to review blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

Skills

Proven experience as a painter, and desire to learn and become skilled a must

Knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them

Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques

Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)

Good basic math skills

Manual dexterity and balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.

Great attention to detail and ability to leave the job site cleaner than when you found it
