JOB REQUIREMENTS: Answer telephones and give information to callers,
take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. Greet
visitors or callers and handle their inquiries or direct them to the
appropriate persons according to their needs. Create, maintain, and
enter information into databases. Operate office equipment, such as fax
machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when
equipment malfunctions. Use computers for various applications, such as
database management or word processing. Set up and manage paper or
electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or
maintaining documents, such as attendance records, correspondence, or
other material. Operate electronic mail systems and coordinate the flow
of information, internally or with other organizations. Schedule and
confirm appointments for clients, customers, or supervisors. Maintain
scheduling and event calendars. Compose, type, and distribute meeting
notes, routine correspondence, or reports, such as presentations or
expense, statistical, or monthly reports. Complete forms in accordance
with company procedures. Locate and attach appropriate files to incoming
correspondence requiring replies. Open, read, route, and distribute
incoming mail or other materials and answer routine letters. Make copies
of correspondence or other printed material. Order and dispense
supplies. Prepare conference or event materials, such as flyers or
invitations. Manage projects or contribute to committee or team work.
Mail newsletters, promotional material, or other information. Develop or
maintain internal or external company Web sites. OTHER
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Are you looking for a part-time position
that offers flexibility, excellent working conditions, and dedicated
co-workers? Our position is 24 hours per week within an 8:00 - 2:00, M-F
schedule. This highly visible position will assist with the day-to-day
operation of the church including worship related activities, office
duties, and ministry support. Key responsibilities include preparing
weekly worship service materials; maintaining the church calendar and
schedule events; maintain church database and records; answer the phone;
greet visitors and members; vendor relations; produce and email weekly
and monthly newsletters; report generation; and volunteer coordination.
The successful candidate will possess 3-5 years as an administrative
assistant with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and desktop
publishing. Experience with social media and websites is helpful. Good
communication skills (both written and verbal); strong organizational
skills; self-starter with ability to act independently; and ability to
process highly confidential information and handle finances are traits
