Our client is looking for a Project Manager professional. This resource will work on a variety of DTSD Engineering projects. They may be migration projects, cloud based projects, GIS, etc. Tasks

  • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
  • Follows standard project management industry practices such as the PMI's framework and has experience with the project development life cycle process (i.e. planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, support).
  • Understands business and technical objectives of a project and works closely with project sponsor.
  • Creates project charter and work plan and tracks budget and schedule progress via appropriate metrics.
  • Establishes project organization and methodologies and defines roles and responsibilities.
  • Gathers and documents business requirements with the team. Documents risks and develops mitigation plans. Manages scope.
  • Creates and implements a communication plan.
  • Coordinates communication between the development team, technical support staff, business area experts, vendors and third-party technology providers, business and IT management, external agencies and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Builds an effective team, assigns tasks to team members, and evaluates outcomes.
  • Negotiates resources.
  • Communicates to stakeholders and project sponsor. Identifies, tracks, and ensures resolution of issues and removal of barriers.
  • Provides technical support to project team members.
  • Handles complex application features and technical designs.
  • Designs and implements the components required for complex application features. Generally, manages a group of applications systems analysts.
Note: Local candidates or willing to relocate at your own expense. Candidate must reside in Wisconsin on day one – 40% onsite, 60% remote. Location: Madison, WIContract: 1+ years

Skills Required:
  • 8 years - Project Management experience managing or leading an IT technical team of up to 10 or more staff
  • 10+ years - Gather and document requirements
  • 10+ years - Prepare written reports
  • 7+ years - Change Management - Demonstrated competence in guiding an organization in preparing agency staff to adopt policy, business processes, IT, and other changes as needed to effectively implement a new major IT system.
  • 7+ years - Experience assembling and managing large teams - Experience and competence in assembling and managing a team of experts from a variety of disciplines and organizational levels to develop solutions to wide-ranging and sophisticated business challenges.
  • 10+ years - Experienced project manager or leader
  • 7+ years - Management of large projects
  • 7+ years - Progress tracking
  • 10+ years - Project plan development
  • 7+ years - Project proposals or charter development
  • 7+ years - Resource planning and management
  • 5 years - RFI and RFP creation and evaluation
  • 10+ years - Familiarity with web application development concepts
  • 10+ years - Web and client-server application development experience, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support
  • Strong verbal communications skills with ability to clearly present information and ideas to groups of ten or more managers and/or staff.
  • Experience tracking project status, milestone and managing risks

Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • Experience working with Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, DB2, GIS, JavaScript, and/or HTML
  • Expereince supporting enterprise applications for a large organization.
  • Experience partnering with business clients to formulate solutions using modern tools (DevOps) that support their business and technical strategies and goals.
  • Knowledge of relational data base concepts (DB2, Oracle)
  • Experience working with various methodologies Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.
  • Professional Certification (PMP)
  • State government experience
