Codeworks is a locally owned and operated IT Services firm in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships. Our client located in Waukesha, WI is looking to bring aboard a Python Developer to their team for a one-year contract basis, with strong likelihood of extension. This individual will be responsible for developing Python software for the provisioning, diagnostics, install, and testing of next generation compute platforms used across multiple imaging devices. The work includes implementing and executing automated tests via a Python based RESTful test framework, supporting enhancements to the test framework, and developing data analysis and test results report generation software. Essential skills include Python software development, technical problem-solving, and performance optimization. Other responsibilities will include:
- Developing and driving automated qualification testing on next generation computer hardware.
- Utilize, and enhance, the team’s common compute platform infrastructure software to expand on an automated test framework and suite.
- Developing Python test definitions in a Linux development environment and integrate them into the RESTful test framework.
- Developed tests will control the state and configuration of computer hardware, determine the health of GPU, CPU, network, and storage components, as well as be able to execute diagnostic and accelerated stress testing.
- Design & development automated compute platform test software
- Contribute to the development of compute platform infrastructure software.
- Assess and mitigate complex technical problems involving the Linux OS, drivers, file systems, communication, and associated peripheral devices.
- Collaborate with a global team to identify compute platform test requirements and design constraints.
- Configure, evaluate, and debug next generation computer hardware.
- Python software development, technical problem-solving, and performance optimization.
- Technical experience in software or computer engineering.
- Experience in product design, development, deployment, and support.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a global cross-functional team environment
- Embedded SW development experience (Python, RESTful APIs, Containers)
- Familiarity with test automation and software unit testing
- Exposure to Agile development processes
- Knowledge Linux OS configuration
