Quality Assurance Team Lead to complement our growing team in Madison, Wisconsin.

NIC Wisconsin, LLC, a Madison-based subsidiary of the NIC Division of Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL), helps Wisconsin government entities Web-enable their information services. Our electronic government solutions use technology to increase efficiency and reduce costs for governments and their constituents.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our team as a Quality Assurance Team Lead. The Quality Assurance Team Lead drives improvements to product quality by working with testing teams and assists with the preparation of Test artifacts using established standards and best practices. This role leads multiple, complex projects and test resources. The Quality Assurance Team Lead provides leadership and guidance to test resources on all aspects of testing (strategy, planning, and execution). This role requires effective implementation of consistent, reliable, and standardized testing processes across the organization.

In addition, the Quality Assurance Team Lead is responsible for creating, planning, implementing, and managing NIC Wisconsin processes to drive quality upfront and to maintain that throughout the systems life cycle. The Quality Assurance Team Lead will look at various techniques and business standards to identify areas that can be improved upon. The position will ensure an overall higher quality of finished product and aim to streamline QA processes that lead to the delivery of quality products and services. The Quality Assurance Team Lead will need to work with cross functional teams to ensure end to end quality. Needs to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and background in IT and with QA processes, best practices, and tools. Will be involved in planning through the execution of the initiatives using established QA processes. Needs to be familiar with tools, managing processes, analyzing data, reporting results, and dealing with complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality assurance analysts
  • Define and document quality assurance standards for testing aligned with industry best practices.
  • Responsible for leading and being hands on with large/complex systems
  • Establish quality assurance processes and tools for requirements traceability and test case coverage
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure proper tracking, resource allocation, and communication of quality assurance efforts on each project
  • Oversee programming, evaluation, and testing of new or modified software programs
  • Responsible for creating and documenting testing results for external partners
  • Be a hands-on expert in the following areas:
    • Manual testing
    • Automated testing
    • Bug identification, testing, resolution
    • Test and test case creation

You will definitely need all of this:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Quality Assurance Processes
  • Expertise with automation testing in an Agile SDLC environment
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the technology quality assurance process including overseeing the design, development, and implementation of testing solutions
  • Strong knowledge and experience in performance/load testing using application such as Visual Studio, LoadRunner, and or WAPT
  • Hands-on experience in test automation technologies such as Coded UI and/or Selenium Webdriver written in C#
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use software development design patterns as they relate to automation testing
  • Experience in managing testing for large development projects with highly technical resources.
  • Proven experience leading teams including, managing performance and developing skill sets of direct reports
  • Experience in implementing software testing theories and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
