Description:This position maintains quality standards by approving in–process and finished products and recording quality results. Ensures that all products blasted and/or painted meet customer, industry and federal standards.Duties/Responsibilities: Performs inspections/tests with specified equipment to ensure compliance to process and product specifications. Maintains a professional working relationship with customers and meets the customers’ quality expectations. Ensures proper record keeping, control, calibration and maintenance of quality test equipment. Approves in-process production and finished product according to specifications. Communicates results to floor staff and supervisor. Maintains company and customer quality records and/or documents according to policies and procedures. Trains new employees in quality control and proper testing procedures and safety habits. Provides feedback on procedures and recommends improvements to production supervisors. Implements testing procedures outlined by management and according to industry standards. Maintains knowledge of industry testing practices, as well as any new developments in the industry. Performs quality control procedures to ensure all jobs are completed to specifications. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on procedures for shop-related accidents, alarms, electrical outages and weather-related emergencies. Maintains safe work area and reports any unsafe conditions. Promotes positive teamwork with all associates in a fast-paced production environment Keeps accurate and detailed records (i.e. date of production, problems, downtime, etc.). Cross-trains on other functions within the team.
