The Insights team is cloud-based in AWS. We are responsible for providing various data points to the Field, allowing Financial Representatives and their leaders to track product sales, their compensation, CRM (Customer Relationship Management) activities, and planning metrics through our Book of Business application. This is a great opportunity to grow with a valuable team that delivers numerous reports to the Home Office and Field.

What's the Role?

Primary focus of this Role is to overview and assess data set/models created in Power BI and Databricks. Will contribute towards platform stability, work with product and application teams to understand and analyze business needs to suggest best practices. This roles requires to be a team player, have vision towards platform growth for better customer experience and has ability to lead/ mentor other employees.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates technical leadership to team.
  • Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices
  • Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems
  • Design and Optimize Power BI datasets & Reports.
  • Create, Optimize and Govern data models in Databricks or traditional databases.
  • Work with AWS platform and Automated deployments (CI/CD)
  • Partner with product and applications teams to understand the business needs for intake

A Great Candidate Will Meet the Following Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in developing Data Warehouse or Big Data applications
  • Strong expertise in SQL, Power BI Development and Administration
  • Proficient in data warehousing concepts and principles
  • Experience with CICD tools
  • Experience in data/ security governance
  • Cloud Implementation experience (Azure/ AWS)
  • Ability to train/ mentor junior resources

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Tools
  • Scripting languages like Python, Java or .NET
  • Familiar with Airflow, Kubernetes and Databricks Environments
