Job Description

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting Milwaukee Operations manufacturing functions, the Quality elements of the New Product Introduction process and in process Quality which includes customer complaints and process nonconformities. Emphasis is on the design, implementation and improvement of established processes following APQP, Six Sigma and problem solving. This position acts as a quality liaison between Milwaukee Operations manufacturing departments, Nogales Assembly Operations, and the Oak Creek quality functions.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIECE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineer, quality assurance, reliability engineering or related field in manufacturing environment (primary or secondary manufacturing and/or assembly of plastic, metal, or sheet metal parts).
  • Application of

    Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement tools. Solid statistical skills and working knowledge of process capability principles. Strong understanding of quality concepts and programs (PPAP, Six Sigma and FMEAs).
  • High-energy and strong skills in communication, analytics and problem-solving
  • Proficient in Minitab, or similar statistical program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Metals manufacturing background and technical knowledge (machining, fabrication, stamping, etc.)
  • Certifications/training with Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, CQE
  • Demonstrated ability to

    drive change and execute change management processes
  • Experience working in a

    union environment, with a focus on continuous improvement of team efficiency
  • Proven experience developing and implementing ISO certification process and procedures, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills especially in leading problem solving and root cause analysis.
