Description: Job Title: Senior Supervisor, Field Engineering Job Code: SAS20232707-104030 Job Location: ND, SD, NE, MN, IA, WI, IL, MI, IN, KY, KS, MO, AR, TN, MS, TX, OK, LA Job Description: L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Senior Supervisor in the Company’s Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Essential Functions:
This position is Field Service Lead for the Tier 3 team.
This position will require a thorough knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications related systems. A deep knowledge of network equipment gained through formal education or varied experience in working complex installations, service activations, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems and devices.
This position will require working beyond the contractual service delivery demarcation supporting the FAA customer to resolve complex network issues.
The Lead position will attend all new hire training at the Ohio integration facility. This individual will train the team on network equipment setup, configurations, and, troubleshooting techniques.
The Lead will hold meetings with Tier 3 peers to collaborate on lessons learned
Network Knowledge / Skills:
Intimate working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, RS-232, RS-530, V.35, RS-449. Understand Ethernet, RS-530, RS232 cabling pinouts.
Understand how to troubleshoot digital interfaces using a break-out box and an oscilloscope a must.
Have an excellent working knowledge of fiber, TDM Multiplexes, Network topology, Timing, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, voice, and data applications a must.
Have an excellent working knowledge of power testing, AD and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC power supplies & UPS systems, as well as knowledge grounding single and multi-point grounding.
Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards.
Intimate working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment: DB-25 Break-Out Box, JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Multi-Meter, AC/DC Amp Probe, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets, and TDR.
Qualifications:
AA/AS degree plus 2-4 years of Telecommunications and/or 6-8 Network Engineering experience is required
Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
