SUMMARY:The Senior Defense Industry Business Advisor acts as a liaison between the organization leadership, business key stakeholders, and the IT department, championing continuous improvement while enhancing the SAP solution platform to meet the needs and goals of the business as they relate to the DFARS clauses in force for active project contracts. This role supports the business by analyzing business needs, solidifying requirements, troubleshooting of issues, training focal points users, managing projects and defining solutions, always with an eye to system and process compliance to relevant DFARS clauses. The ideal candidate will understand the criticality of compliance and adequate, effective controls to Client's success and have experience designing and implementing compliance solutions for the six DFARS contractor business systems.Additionally, as a member of the IT Applications Team, you will provide functional and technical support to Business Users to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Team members are expected to become the experts for their applications and have strong knowledge of business processes supported by the Team.

Develops relationships with users and facility/functional area leadership to maintain open communication channels to understand business conditions, operational challenges, and potential opportunities. Acts as a business advisor for designing, developing, training, and maintaining systems compliant with relevant FAR and DFARS clauses. Collaborates with business stakeholders, leadership, and other IT resources to propose clear and compliant solutions. Supports the organization during and in preparation for DOD Customer audits by DCAA, DCMA, SUPSHIP, and U.S. Navy. Aides the business in identifying and implementing corrective actions to CARs and gap findings from reviews and audits. Evaluates with key stakeholders business processes and needs to increase efficiency, productivity, and functionality and translate these requirements into specifications for developers. Oversees development of solutions that meet business needs, leading decisions that optimize configuration, customization and process change considerations. Assists developers in unit testing deliverables and facilitates the user acceptance testing (UAT) with business partners in order to ensure quality and functionality. Defines and manages project elements, including scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables, in collaboration with business stakeholders. Interfaces and communicates with program/project teams, management, and stakeholders on a regular basis regarding project expectations and performance. Effectively communicates project expectations and performances to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Manages IT project and program risks, issues, and scope changes using defined program governance processes and tools. Works with other IT personnel to troubleshoot any problems with SAP programs to craft incident solutions and root cause resolutions. Creates, reviews and delivers end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, training materials) and training abides by and enforces all organizational policies and procedures. Works well within a small, collaborative team environment that encourages participation in all facets of solution design and delivery. style="mso-special-character:line-break" style="mso-special-character:line-break" QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Expertise in federal government contract compliance as it relates to FAR and DFARS clauses and related auditing authorities and guidance
  • Knowledge of how the mandates in force on active projects need to shape the organization-wide processes within SAP.
  • Understanding of industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Methodology.
EDUCATION:Requires Master's Degree or higher; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years' relevant experience (combined business and technical). 5+ years experience working for a defense contractor or agency. Ability to traverse government law as it relates to system and process compliant solutions.   • In-depth knowledge of government contract regulations.
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP systems designing, developing, and implementing solutions.
  • Driven to continuously learn new mandates, practices, processes, methodologies, and technologies.
