SummaryProvide consulting services, advice and assistance to client firms on HVAC, plumbing, sanitary sewer, and fire protection systems for a diverse set of industries and manufacturing operations.  Serve as lead engineer on studies and analyses and provide recommendations.  Assist and advise the client and/or lead the installation and start‑up on assigned projects.Assist and/or perform the duties of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, or Project Engineer on assigned projects.Engineer will expected to develop design and submittal documents and drawings for plumbing and sanitary sewer systems for industrial project sites.Engineer will be required to have a firm understanding of the codes and design requirements for plumbing  systems design and installation.Engineer will expected to develop design and submittal documents for plumbing and sanitary sewer systems for industrial project sites.Understand the code requirements associated with fire protection requirements in how it relates to the design of the systems, the areas and hazards, and secondary mitigation methods.Prepare drawings and designs for fire protection systems, and fire water storage and pumping systems.Familiarity with requirements of facility insurance carriers requirements (FM Global) would be a major benefit.Assist in the preparation of client proposals and marketing materials through definition and write‑ups of project scope.Meet with client personnel to assist in preliminary planning and identification of design concepts/limits.Conduct engineering studies and analyses of unit operations, equipment, and operational methods.Perform field surveys in preparation for design activities and to assure adherence to performance/fabrication/design/code specifications.Execute or supervise design engineering including flow sheets, equipment and piping specifications, pipeline sizing, purchasing, and other project functions such as field check‑out and start‑up.Prepare or supervise the preparation of construction and bid documents such as drawings, cost estimates, project schedules, installation specifications, operation manuals and related details for projects as may be required.Seal mechanical construction documents as the engineer of record where appropriate.Assist in obtaining bids for construction, selection of contractor, and act as liaison during construction.Coordinate project activities of other engineers and specialists as directed by the Project Manager.Maintain technical expertise through the monitoring of technological advances in equipment, processes, facilities; via site visits, vendors, technical groups, literature, and other available sources of information.Perform shop inspections and/or vendor expediting during equipment fabrication.Perform administrative and other miscellaneous tasks as may be required.Self driven, self starter and the ability to take on projects with very little guidance.Working in a multi-discipline environment, ability to coordinate work with other disciplines.Experience in writing project scopes, working on project studies, doing project construction estimates, and developing project engineering time estimates.The ability to take on more than one project at the same time. With each projects scope being from the study phase completely through construction and to the final turn over to the client.The ability to clearly present in group project meetings the building mechanical scope of the project in a militiaperson environment, in both a in-person, or on-line meeting.
