job detailsjob summary:This telecommunications technician position will work at the direction of the End Use Support section chief within the Department of Natural Resources.location: MADISON, Wisconsinjob type: Contractsalary: $20.33 - 25.33 per hourwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:
This position will work with cellular vendors for new and upgrade phone orders, along with service suspensions and cancellations.
This position will work with a ticketing system where all work requests and progress are tracked.
This position will update inventory and various other systems, therefore attention to detail and the ability to follow complicated procedures is required.
This position may also support teleconferencing events, which involve camera and sound system set up.
This position works with other technicians across the DNR, and with customers and VIPs as well, so great customer service skills are required as well.
Required skills:
Experience in supporting smart phones - 2 years minimum
Experience in working with cellular vendors - 2 years minimum
Experience in following detailed procedures - 2 years minimum
Experience in working with a ticketing systems to track work - 2 years minimum
Experience in tactful and professional communications with teammates and customers - 2 years minimum
The most qualified candidate will also have:
Experience with using online vendor portals
Experience working on a technical team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite including Teams
Optional skillsets:
Experience in drafting and documenting procedures
Experience in supporting conference room technologies
Experience with video cameras and sound systems
