The Associate Director or Cloud Platforms leads the planning, design, and engineering of Humana’s AWS and GCP environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud architecture and experience in managing cloud-based infrastructures. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions that meet the company's business needs.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Cloud Platforms performs technical planning, architecture development and sets the standards for Cloud provider environments. Develops specifications for new Cloud capabilities and services. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across the technology stack. This role will have a strong focus on innovation and developing the product roadmap for new capabilities in AWS and GCP. This role will have key influence over our Cloud environments and will be a trusted advisor for our application teams. This leader will advance a team of highly specialized professional associates and contractors.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions on GCP and AWS platforms.

    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based solutions.

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize cloud-based solution requirements that align with the company's business objectives.

    • Manage and maintain the security, reliability, and scalability of cloud-based infrastructure.

    • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards in the deployment of cloud-based solutions.

    • Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging cloud technologies to identify opportunities for platform improvement.

    • Develop and maintain documentation of cloud-based infrastructure and processes.

    • Manage and mentor a team of cloud platform engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Enterprise experience leading, advancing, and supporting AWS or GCP
  • Experience building/deploying infrastructure via CI/CD in GCP or AWS

  • 2 or more years of people leadership experience
  • Must be passionate about creating speed to value for our customers
  • 4 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GCP and AWS platforms and their associated services.
  • Experience in implementing cloud-based solutions that meet industry and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Terraform, ADO, GitHub, Argo CD, HELM
  • Experience with EKS and GKE
  • SAFe Agile certified

  • Deliver in an Agile methodology

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/ HIPAA information.
