ICF’s Homeland Security and National Resilience line of business is seeking a Communications Analyst to support our Healthcare Preparedness client. The Communications Analyst (CA) will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of an online database of public health preparedness resources and separate databases that support technical assistance (TA) provision and tracking. The CA will conduct literature searches to identify new, relevant materials and annotate and categorize them in resource collections and TA response documents. The CA will also help maintain databases that track TA requests and dispositions, maintaining all of this data in a Content Management System. This position is 100% remote, with very limited travel requirements. Key Responsibilities :Conduct literature searches and environmental scans of gray and published materials on public health, healthcare, emergency preparedness, and related topics.

Effectively analyze literature findings and select resources for potential inclusion.

Annotate and categorize resources for topic-specific resource collections.

Maintain an online database of resources including adding, deleting, and editing entries, checking for broken links, and operating in a Content Management System.

Conduct quick, targeted literatures searches for select TA requests.

Maintain online databases that tracks TA requests and dispositions.

Provide frequent, timely, and effective communication to team related to all aspects of the position.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree

2 years of experience in conducting online research, and writing literature reviews, and the ability to rapidly include/exclude and summarize (annotate) findings.

Experience in public health, public health preparedness, or emergency management

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Behavioral Health, Health, Communications, Emergency Management, or related field highly preferred

Previous experience with Content Management Systems.

Previous experience with database management

Previous experience with TA centers

​ Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions

Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

Professional Skills:

Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.

The ability to work as part of a project team as well as work independently on assigned tasks.

Ability to work independently, seek help as needed and contribute to team and company culture.

Working knowledge of computer and online tools, including Microsoft
