JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing program for Sheridan Memorial Hospital (SMH). This includes overseeing planning, directing, implementing and measuring effectiveness of various marketing strategies across multiple platforms to diverse audiences. This position is also the primary creative director tasked with promoting the mission, vision, and identity of SMH. This includes ensuring consistency of each brand, identity, and message.

As a member of the creative team, the Marketing Director oversees 2-3 service line marketing efforts to include creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns using appropriate analytical tools to optimize marketing effectiveness. The Director will also maintain consistency of brand image, identity, and message.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the execution of the SMH Strategic Marketing Plan in support of Strategic Growth Priorities.
  • Coordinates with senior leadership teams to drive Strategic Growth Priorities through quarterly meetings to identify top strategic marketing areas.
  • Reports on effectiveness of marketing/communication initiatives in strategic areas to senior leadership team at monthly check-in meetings.
  • Leads marketing team collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop marketing plans and execute department and/or service line specific marketing tactics.
  • Oversees marketing team and consultants (when necessary) who collaborate with hospital leaders and department managers to identify and share evidence-based best practices.
  • Demonstrates the SMH Guiding Principles in all behaviors and interactions with patients, community members, and SMH employees.
  • Communicates and manages improvement with a positive and supportive approach.
  • Leads technology integration to develop new ways to communicate with patients, community members, and employees and to implement new systems to streamline processes to improve marketing/communications.
  • Manages all aspects of two to three service line marketing efforts at a time.
  • Creates and executes marketing campaigns in collaboration with service department directors, managers, and supervisors.
  • Leads the selection and use of appropriate analytical tools to optimize marketing effectiveness – setting marketing goals to support achievement of service line development strategic goals.
  • Oversees consistency of brand, image, identity, and message in all marketing campaigns.
  • Leads the development of the content strategy for all SMH communication platforms/channels.
  • Oversees the marketing department to develop effect, branded graphics and content for marketing campaigns across all internal and external communication channels (websites, social media, collateral, email, online advertising, and print advertising).
  • Ensures Marketing/Communications team consistently posts relevant and planned content to SMH websites and social media.
  • Directs marketing efforts through the effective and timely management of planning platforms currently in use (i.e. Trello).
  • Leads weekly staff meetings, incorporating the Strategic Marketing Plan and providing project/activity updates regarding hospital and departmental matters.
  • Ensures internal communications are effective in educating and promoting SMH marketing initiatives to employees and volunteers.
  • Represents SMH & marketing department at community events as appropriate.
  • Works with administration and other staff to plan staff activities and events, promoting them, as appropriate, to staff through various communication tools.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education / Experience / License and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree communications, marketing, related field, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Minimum of two years communications, marketing or related community experience, preferred.
