Falcon Motors designs and manufactures consumer, commercial and mass transit electric vehicles (“EVs”) as well as manufacturing and installation of universal DC fast charging (“DCFC”) stations and solar covered parking canopies. We are seeking a Automotive Mechanical Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer who is a relentless problem solver, works well in teams and enjoys a challenge to join our design team at Falcon Motors.

This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Collaborate with a cross-functional team responsible for turning ideas into functional prototypes using efficient processes and then taking these prototypes to full scale production.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using CAD tools; Catia, SolidWorks, Fusion
  • Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps to execution
  • Successfully monitor progress and implementation of engineering initiatives
  • Develop solutions to project challenges or constraints
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
  • Conduct and/or use research on user experience, current market trends and general functionality
  • Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations
  • Documenting the design process and presenting progress reports to all relevant stakeholders
  • Obtaining materials and equipment required

The ideal candidate will have but is not limited to:

  • Experience carrying projects from concept to production including production documentation
  • Fluent in engineering design and manufacturing tools including CAD/Solid modeling experience; Catia, SolidWorks, Fusion
  • Strong understanding of drawing/blueprint/drafting needs and requirements
  • Demonstrated machine design experience
  • Comfortable with tools and typical workshop processes (fabrication, machining, etc.)
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations for the automotive industry
  • Effective technical and problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, attention to detail, creativity
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, presentation skills, analytical skills, organizational skills
