You will be playing a critical role to advance our retail-focused strategy, build and own technology roadmap, drive the modern architecture of a highly engaged consumer-facing web application, collaborate with business partners in building personalized journeys for our senior members and lead the cloud adoption to provide consistent omnichannel experience for our members.

Responsibilities

The Senior Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 7 or more years of experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

  • 3 to 5 years as an application architect

  • Strong experience with and knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Azure or Cloud-native development

  • Strong experience with and knowledge of omni-channel applications and experiences

  • Experience working with and building CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong experience with and knowledge of back-end, including. NET Core

  • Experience with and knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Docker

  • Experience with and knowledge of OAuth2.0 and/or OIDC

  • Good understanding of Content Management systems - preferably Adobe Experience Manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Experience in securing APIs using modern methodologies

  • Solid experience in writing scalable, stateless applications and APIs

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented patterns and practices

  • Experience in debugging highly distributed systems

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Work at Home Guidance

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
