Job Summary

The Peer Educators work with the Counseling and ADA departments to research, develop, schedule, plan, and facilitate awareness programs for Sheridan College students. Peer Educators will be tasked with researching different programs/events/activities to host on campus throughout the fall and spring semesters. Peer Educators will create all advertising for programs/events/activities and they will assist with setup, tear down and facilitation of assigned events. Peer Educators are responsible for documenting programming debriefing, attendance numbers, etc.

Additionally, Peer Educators will work with the Counseling and ADA Coordinator to provide prevention training (SafeZone, QPR, etc) to Sheridan College faculty, staff and students.

Education/Qualifications

  • Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
  • Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
  • Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel
  • Excels with Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Will have to work late hours (Depending on event)
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
