In this highly visible role, the Project Manager will lead diverse teams of professionals in the execution ofautomation projects in refining, chemical, petrochemical and related industries. You will have oversight and responsibility to maintain the relationship with customers, as well as planning, execution and commercial success of the projects. Come join us! As a Project Manager, you will:- Lead the project execution team, and maintain the customer relationship along with their expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure commercial success, customer satisfaction and technical project execution and delivery for projects, ranging from $0.5M - >$5M size.
- Meet project deliverables, while adhering to Emersons Project Management Office project execution processes.
- Proactively handle project risk through collaboration with project team and customer.
- Actively participate in planning, scheduling, resource loading and procurement activities.
- Lead and coordinate the Project Team through all phases of the project lifecycle and lead periodic project reviews with Emerson Management.
- Participate in proposal development and review meetings to estimate project management and controls efforts, develop preliminary schedule, project execution strategy and perform risk assessment for proposals.
- Bachelor of Science Degree, with 4+ years experience
- Proven business acumen with a clear understanding of Revenue/Cost/Profit, with experience managing both fixed price and reimbursable projects; accountable for reporting to management on project performance and financials
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to customers and management
- Be adept in working with third party contractors and convey a professional image while building and sustaining customer relationships
- Be comfortable working in an operating plant environment and possess the ability to negotiate staircases, ladders, scaffolding and catwalks, etc.
- Willing and able to travel up to 30%, mainly domestically
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or MBA
- Experience managing or leading automation projects
- Control system automation and field device experience with knowledge of various hardware products, technologies and services deployed for process control system projects (such as DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, FOUNDATION fieldbus and AMS)
- Possess the desire to work in a diverse team environment
