Description Sara Walker with Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in the steel manufacturing industry, based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting key areas within our accounts payable team. This includes managing team members, executing related processes, monitoring department metrics, and resolving process-related inquiries. Responsibilities: Manage and mentor the Accounts Payable team, fostering a supportive and productive work environment. Ensure accurate and timely execution of accounts payable related processes, adhering to both internal and external controls. Monitor and manage Accounts Payable department metrics. Support internal teams with issues relating to employee expense reporting. Handle day-to-day inquiries from the Accounts Payable team. Resolve process-related inquiries and escalate to management when necessary. Oversee the preparation of specific Accounts Payable records and analysis. Assist with the annual recovery audit and manage annual 1099 reporting. Work towards continuous improvement of the Accounts Payable environment. Provide backup for payment processing and vendor maintenance. Manage invoice holds and rejections pending resolution. Review Accounts Payable aging and take appropriate steps to address aged payables. Assist vendors and external teams with accounts payable inquiries. Create and update training documentation for the Accounts Payable team. Perform ad hoc projects as needed.Please contact Sara Walker with Robert Half to review this position. Job Order: 03600-0013042101Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the steel manufacturing industry Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) processes Ability to complete expense reports accurately and efficiently Experience in invoice processing, ensuring timely payments and resolving discrepancies Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors and internal departments Proven track record in supervising and mentoring a team Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) is a plus.
