The semi business unit chips in to designs, manufacturing, and supports a broad range of high-performance microscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in semiconductor markets. Our worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to our customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.Make an Impact!As an Applications Development Engineer III, you will be crafting, efficient automated solutions for customers to make critical process decisions with the use of our finely tuned workflows and automation software on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s dual beam (https://www.thermofisher.com/search/results?query=dual%20beam%20&focusarea=Search%20All) systems.Key Responsibilities:Characterize/develop new applications to automate Thermo Fisher wafer dual beam microscope functionality for semiconductor customers.Automate applications using tools such as AutoTEM/iFast/Python/Machine Learning.Conduct customer training and communicate customer needs to product development groups.Act as a customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues, understand customer workflow needs, and assisting them in applications development.Provide customer support and applications training after instrument installation.Support product groups on system performance, features, and potential problems while collaborating with marketing/development groups on future product developments.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (technical engineering, engineering, sciences, or related field).

1-2 years in a semiconductor process and/or equipment environment.

Hands-on experience with DualBeam, FIB, SEM, or similar semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Experience in a research environment using small and/or wafer DualBeam technology.

Experience using Machine Learning to build predictive models of features within a set of images is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of technology diagnostics as well as troubleshooting techniques, operational optimization, and experience of analytical equipment; specifically, electron/ion microscopes.

Clear interpersonal skills, both written and verbal targeted for a diverse audience is essential to success in this role.

Excellent customer interfacing skills.

Ability to work well with multi-functional and cross-cultural teams.

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25%; possession of a valid passport is required.
