Description We are searching for a Controller to join a team located in Portland, Maine. As a Controller, you will take charge of critical accounting functions, manage the accounting team, and ensure the smooth running of accounts payable and receivable. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets Supervise the accounting team to ensure the smooth and efficient daily operations Manage month-end and year-end close process Oversee the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable Utilize accounting software systems, particularly QuickBooks Desktop, to manage financial transactions and generate reports Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations Manage light payroll duties to ensure all staff are paid accurately and on time Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting Support budget and forecasting activitiesRequirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions Strong knowledge in handling Accounts Payable (AP) Ability to manage Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in Auditing processes Familiarity with Budget Processes Skilled in Tax Preparation Proficiency in using QuickBooks Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
