South Valley Engineering is a small engineering company located in Salem, Oregon and has been serving the northwest since 2008. Responsibilities:

Performs drafting and design work for building components of post-frame and standard wood frame construction projects using AutoCAD LT

Producing plans from information provided by clients using established internal drafting procedures and engineering calculations

Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Has the ability to read, interpret, and draft new and modify existing AutoCAD drawings

Working effectively and efficiently both independently and as a part of a team

Must have a strong willingness to learn drafting and structural wood design, along with an ability to learn quickly and have the initiative to further their knowledge of engineering and construction on a consistent basis.

Must have a high degree of attention to detail

Other responsibilities including answering phones, processing & scheduling jobs, and working directly with clients

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Computer knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word and Excel. Some computer networking or IT experience would be a plus!

PREFERRED: 5 years architectural and/or structural design and drafting experience preferably with AutoCad or AutoCad LT

(3-D CAD experience not required)

Experience in wood frame and/or post-frame construction desirable

Excellent and professional communication skills, both with colleagues and with the general public

Self-motivated and can work both independently and as part of a team

Enjoys people and has a sense of humor!

NOTE:

This is an in-office full time position; contract or remote workers will not be considered

Only applicants with the design or drafting education and/or experience in AutoCAD specified above will be considered for this position
