We have an immediate opening for an administrative assistant to support Human Resources at our company corporate headquarters in Tigard, OR. This is a temporary (seasonal) part-time, in-office position with primarily administrative duties. Estimated length of assignment is from April through September.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist department in carrying out various HR programs, policies and procedures for all company employees.
Provide support to recruitment by creating, editing and posting job ads; assist with pre-screening applicants.
Gather and review pre-employment paperwork, order and track background checks and drug screening.
Provide support for the new hire and orientation process by gathering pre-employment and new hire paperwork, setting up and maintaining personnel files. Prepare archive files for storage.
Maintain I9 documents and files.
Provide administrative support in FMLA, and other leave programs, and Workers’ Compensation reporting.
Assist or prepare HR correspondence.
Make photocopies, scan or fax documents and perform various clerical functions.
Serve as support and assist HR Manager with various research and/or special projects.
Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled hours required.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications and Physical Demands
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in business writing a plus. Must have outstanding spelling, grammar along with verbal and written communication skills.
Must have exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills. Must produce accurate work product.
This is an in-office position, there are no options for remote work. Schedule is part time from April through September (approximately), averaging 20-25 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-4 years administrative experience, preferable in human resources, benefits or payroll.
Associate (A.A.) degree and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
