Job Title: Information Systems Security Engineer 3Location: Portland, ORClient: Bonneville Power AdministrationDuration: 12+ monthsHybrid role (2days office and 3 days home per week) Pay Rate: $70/hr. W2 REQUIREMENTSEducation & Corresponding Experience (required on matrix)- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a directly related technical field is preferred.
- 10 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor’s degree.
- 12 years of experience is required with an applicable associate degree.
- 14 years of experience is required without a degree.
- Experience must include the following:
- Hands-on technical implementation of networks and systems.
- Experience evaluating various different technical, operational and management solutions to security problems, using written language and various media to present alternatives and recommendations.
- Proven ability to develop documentation sufficient to arrive at logical and comprehensive conclusions and recommendations. The documentation must be of a sufficient professional level to stand as an artifact for reuse as part of the security architecture.
- Experience evaluating the adequacy and existence of IT security controls as is conforms to security architectures.
- Position requires 3 years previous experience effectively performing security control implementation on networks, servers and systems and/or vulnerability assessments.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with the following functions is required:
- Desktop support/troubleshooting experience of security hardware, software, peripheral devices, and networking equipment
- Experience using technical product life cycle concepts and requirements engineering
- Experience developing new infrastructures utilizing emerging technology
- Experience gathering and analyzing user requirements, performing fit/gap analysis, and developing prototypes
- Implementing government physical access control system (PACS) standards including HSPD-12 and FIPS-201
- LAN and WAN development principles and methods
- Cable terminations, installation of cables such as copper, fiber, 15pr, CAT 5/6
- Ports and Protocols, EIGRP, OSPF, Spanning-Tree, VLANs, ACLs
- Network architecture principles and concepts and network management tools
- Packet capture, bandwidth testing and cable testing tools such as Wireshark, Fluke p.
- Advanced understanding of the following functions is required:
- Server Operating Systems (Windows 2016 and above)
- Network topologies
- Security systems hardware, Access Control software, and CCTV/DVR/NVR systems.
- Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
