Landscape Technician Trainee

Landscape East & West is a full service, award winning, eco-friendly, customer focused landscape contractor. We are looking to add a key member to our Maintenance Department in the role of Technician Trainee. The successful candidate will work alongside senior technicians and develop their skillset and knowledge of plant health care and irrigation systems.

Job duties include but not limited to:

Assist senior irrigation technician(s) with irrigation system startups, repairs, and maintenance of commercial and residential properties.

Assist senior plant health care technician(s) with lawn treatments (fertilization, pest and insect control), ornamental bed care, and tree and shrub care.

Requirements:

At least 1-2 years’ experience in landscape maintenance.

Ability to pass the Oregon Department of Agriculture “Laws and Safety” exam within 30 days. Company to provide necessary training materials and study time. (https://www.oregon.gov/oda/programs/Pesticides/Licensing/Pages/ExamsStudyMaterials.aspx)

Tech savvy and willing to learn new systems when needed

Possess a valid driver’s license that is insurable though the company policy

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Able to walk through maintenance accounts, through all types of terrain.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel & dig

Able to drive company assigned vehicle and trailer.

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is generally 6:30am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday.
