Manufacturing & Fabrication Technician (Part-Time)

At Tiger Tugs, we manufacture helicopter tugs, which are self-propelled vehicles used for moving helicopters on the ground. Demand for our products has increased, so we're looking for a part-time technician to help our existing crew, by manufacturing and fabricating components that are used in the construction of our helicopter tugs. This position is approximately 20 hours per week with some flexibility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:

- Operation and basic maintenance of the plasma cutting table to cut parts from mild steel plate and steel tube

- Removal of the slag from plasma cut parts with a grinder and/or abrasive wheel

- Operation of a press brake to bend plasma cut parts to their final shape

- Machining of parts on a CNC knee mill

- Operation of other manufacturing equipment including a lathe, belt sander, hydraulic press, bandsaw, router, and hand tools to prepare parts for assembly or subsequent processing

- Checking part quality with calipers and visual inspection

- Minor equipment maintenance and housekeeping of the work area

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical repairs or a comparable field

- Experience operating common manufacturing equipment listed above

- Able to use computers, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

- Able to safely operate a forklift

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Works primarily in a machine shop environment.

- Will on a continuous basis stand, walk, bend and lift up to 65 lbs.

- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
