Job DescriptionWe are seeking aMedical Office Specialistto join Oregon Allergy Associates clinic in Eugene, OR. In this role, you will provide clerical expertise to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care. We are a supportive, hard-working team and are looking for a phenomenal addition who shares our passion for patient care. Schedule: This is a part-time position, offering 20 hours or less per week. Serving at the reception desk: answering phones, greeting, and communicating with patients and providers.

Scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointments.

Checking in patients and accurately documenting registration.

Verifying insurance and patient demographics.

Filing and retrieving medical records and files.

Handling copying and faxing tasks.

Collecting co-pays and cash, and obtaining credit card authorizations.

Entering charges and payments and balancing daily transactions.

Additional duties as assigned .

Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

1+ years of experience preferred. However, candidates with proactive, motivated attitudes and excellent customer service skills will also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.

General Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands for deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.

Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and patients.
