Part time/Freelance Sewing Specialist

A Portland-based custom merchandise company is seeking a part-time/freelance production sewing specialist.

Responsibilities:

Operate semi-industrial sewing machines to sew a variety of fabrics and materials according to specifications. (Pfaff 591 and Pfaff Ambition 610)

Produce retail quality work with extreme consistency.

Work with other team members to ensure timely completion of production goals.

Perform routine machine maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine and operations issues.

Occasionally help with other operations of the production process.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

This role has no direct supervised positions to manage.

Requirements:

Prior experience in commercial sewing preferred, but not required depending on abilities and comfort with available machines.

Ability to read and interpret production specifications and follow written and verbal instructions.

Detail-orientated and quality-conscious.

Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.

Approach all sewing challenges with a solution-based mentality.

Excel within a system that demands attention to detail in work output.

Compensation:

This position is currently classified as an independent contractor. Hourly pay dependent on skills.
