That’s why we’re looking for a Principal SecDevOps Engineer to join Procore’s journey to revolutionize a historically underserved industry. As a Principal SecDevOps Engineer, you’ll be a key member of the Application & Cloud Security team, within the Security Engineering Department. You’ll be responsible for influencing Engineering to adopt security and privacy by design, secure SDLC, and internal consulting on remediating security vulnerabilities. You’ll work on complex platform security projects both independently and collaboratively in our agile environment. This role requires a strong background in security as it relates to platform infrastructure, application security, and other aspects of network/cloud infrastructure security. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.What you’ll do:Transform organizational and process challenges to achieve results that drive complex security efforts for internal and external customersDesign, implement, and maintain tooling to secure self-service infrastructure; develop and implement workflows to automate security vulnerability detection for the software development lifecycleContinuously improve our infrastructure for PKI, secrets, secure networking, logging, and detectionScope and perform security reviews of web applications, mobile applications, and private and public cloud environmentsHelp harden our infrastructure to avoid exploits and privilege escalationAdvocate for security as a subject matter expert across multiple organizations, holding discussions on security topics and driving automation across the organizationIdentify architectural deficiencies and implement vulnerability mitigation strategies to address themProvide our Engineering team with well-researched security advice to demonstrate vulnerabilities, collaborate with all teams to provide secure development guidanceWork across Ruby on Rails, Apache, Nginx, PostgreSQL, AWS tech stacksWhat we are looking for:BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience is required; MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred8+ years of experience in Application Security with at least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails development with deployment to a production environment3+ years of experience in penetrating testing, including mobile & web applicationsExperience with conducting threat assessments, building threat models, and creating remediation plans based on the results of threat assessmentsThorough understanding of vulnerability classes (OWASP), how they can be exploitedExperience analyzing risk & prioritization of vulnerability remediation using MITRE ATT&CK within the greater context of assets & control stackExpertise with APPSEC methods & tools including threat modeling, design patterns, SAST, DAST, and bug bounty programs; expertise automating security testing and developing new toolsPrevious development and security code review (Ruby, Go, Erlang, Python, Javascript, etc.) experienceKnowledge of cryptography, including symmetric & asymmetric ciphers, hash functions, PKI, and certificates. Application of cryptography to software engineering problems, such as secrets management, authentication, and data maskingFamiliarity with open standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and TLSDeep background and experience in:AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, S3, Lambda) IAM implementationAWS and orchestration toolsLinux experienceHashicorp Technologies (Consul, Terraform, Vault, Packer)Containers and Container Management (Docker, Kubernetes)Config Management (Puppet, Ansible, Salt)Networking protocol knowledge (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)Technical Certifications are a plus (GIAC, OCSP, CISSP)
