Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Locates food product vendors to interview and determine product availability and terms of sales.
  2. Regularly tracks, monitors, and evaluates contract compliance and vendor performance.
  3. Seeks new vendors and alternative materials for sale and distribution.
  4. Coordinates plant and vendor purchasing activities.
  5. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts to evaluate conformance to company policy.
  6. Introduces new materials and products to sales personnel.
  7. Resolves vendor or contractor grievances.
  8. Provides overall leadership for private label process, analysis, planning and project execution for new products.
  9. Supervises private label staff.

Job Specifications

  1. Requires 3 years purchasing experience in the Food Industry.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in logistics or a related field is preferred.
  3. APICS Certification is preferred.
  4. Knowledge of Manufacturing Software Systems.
  5. Basic PC skills are required.

Working Conditions

  1. Office Environment.
  2. Travel up to 10% of the time.

Must be willing to work on-site.
