Retail Store Manager – Portland, OR (Full-Time)

We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead our team at Dragon Herbarium, a long-standing apothecary and herbal retail shop in SW Portland. This is a hands-on position for someone who loves people, herbs, and retail—and who thrives on keeping a business running smoothly while creating a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff.

What You’ll Do:

Oversee daily retail operations (opening/closing, cash handling, scheduling)

Provide excellent customer service and ensure staff do the same

Manage and train retail employees with clarity, consistency, and compassion

Monitor inventory, ordering, and merchandising

Support in marketing, events, and maintaining store appearance

Maintain compliance with workplace and safety standards

What We’re Looking For:

Previous retail management or leadership experience (herbal/apothecary experience a plus, but not required)

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

Comfort with technology (POS systems, scheduling tools, Shopify, QuickBooks Online a plus)

A people-first approach: you enjoy motivating staff and creating a positive work culture

Interest in herbs, teas, or holistic wellness (or a willingness to learn)
