Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to be part of our team located in Portland, Oregon. This role is pivotal in managing the Accounts Receivable cycle, preparing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and performing various accounting-related tasks. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Handle the Accounts Receivable cycle in compliance with project terms Collaborate with program staff and funders/clients to address any payment delays Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of invoices in accordance with grant and contract terms Oversee the recording of expenses and revenue, ensuring correctness and adherence to guidelines Perform event deposit reconciliation and record event revenue on a monthly basis Manage cash and check deposits and update cash balances report Support the monthly financial close process including posting journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and reviewing the general ledger for completeness and accuracy Post donations to Sage from various platforms like Blackbaud, PayPal, and Stripe Oversee credit card expense reporting including user account set-up, ensuring timely submission of expenses, reviewing expense coding, and pulling reports Execute other accounting-related tasks and projects as needed.Requirements Possess advanced skills in Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting Experienced in managing General Ledger and performing Journal Entries Capable of effectively handling Month End Close processes Knowledgeable in Grant Accounting procedures and principles Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software is a must Ability to maintain Cash Balance records accurately and efficiently Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is highly desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders Strong organizational and multitasking abilities High attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Strict adherence to confidentiality and high ethical standards Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
