DescriptionThe 2025 Summer Intern will gain real-world experience working with aquatic ecologists, fisheries biologists, wetland ecologists and/ or environmental scientists and planners on a wide variety of projects. Projects may include ecosystem modeling and data analysis; contribution to environmental reviews, assessments, and plans; and fieldwork related to aquatic or terrestrial species surveys. The Intern will assist with project tasks such as those listed below, will offer their insight and latest knowledge of techniques to professional staff, and learn about the work done at ICF. Work may include fieldwork, and if so appropriate training, including safety training, will be included.This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2025. The intern will work a hybrid schedule from our Portland, OR office (generally 1-2 days per week) and may also be required to spend time in the field or at additional training or work sites based on business needs. At this time we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance in Portland, OR. Accommodations and transportation would be provided for any overnight travel required away from the home or Portland office.Responsibilities:

Assist with fieldwork that may include freshwater mussel or fisheries surveys, terrestrial wildlife or plant surveys, habitat and culvert surveys or others.

Assist with project-related tasks such as research and information gathering, data-analysis, and writing reports.

Basic Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management, environmental sciences, fisheries and wildlife or similar discipline with an anticipated graduation no earlier than August 2025 and no later than June 2026.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience with statistics and data analysis

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Some knowledge of Oregon and Washington and Federal environmental laws and regulations

Ability to document agendas, notes, and other meeting deliverables in a clear and accurate manner

First aid/CPR certified
