Wage + Tips! — Cashier & Stocker wanted for friendly liquor store

The Gearhart Liquor Store is looking to hire for a part-time position. This would be year-round work, not just seasonal (we don’t let people go at the end of the summer like other places.) People are usually in a good mood at the liquor store. :-)

Hourly wage + cash tips!

Wage grows as you do. If you stick around and learn more, you earn more.

Position can become full-time in the future, if desired.

We do seasonal bonuses too!

Must be 18+ years old to sell alcohol in Oregon.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working while they are at work, and doesn’t just want to play on their phone between customers. This can be a physical job and you need to be able to lift heavy boxes and be on your feet. Work ethic and attention to detail are key.

Duties include:

Cashiering (we can teach you how to count back change and run a cash register if you’ve never done so before)

Talking with people and helping them find what they’re looking for

Stocking shelves

Lifting heavy boxes

Building orders for bars (attention to detail and being comfortable with numbers/counting is essential)

Able to communicate, and comfortable speaking up to talk with coworkers and the public. Answering the phone.

You don’t need to smoke to sell cigars, and you don’t need to drink to sell booze, but you do need to try and learn the products we carry so we can be the Human Google at helping people pick out fun stuff! Don’t worry, we can help you learn the basics, it’s pretty easy.

It’s a pretty relaxed job and the customers are great. The only issue would be if you have physical problems lifting boxes or being on your feet.
